Cool!

The new SFBG Best of the Bay 2008 is out, and we are happy to be in it!

Editor's Pick Outdoors and Sports-
We're perhaps a little too, er, unbalanced to stand upright enough on a surfboard and guide it through the roiling waves, but that doesn't mean we're not suckers for hotties in wetsuits. Often you'll find us curled up with a cup of joe in the dunes of Ocean Beach or Pacifica (or, hell, southern Baja — we're enthusiasts!) appreciating fine-bodied curler-tamers from afar and merrily offering freshly laundered towels and the pitiful results of our amateur clambake to those who return from the breakers unbroken. But enough about us. This award goes to Aqua Surf Shop for not only outfitting our heroic tsunami-herders with affordable boards, suits, and accessories, but also taking the whole surfwear trend in charitable directions with glamorous fashion shows at 111 Minna that benefit the Edgewood Center for Families and Children and feature the work of several primo local stylists and music makers. With a new Haight Street location to complement its original Ocean Beach store, Aqua keeps growing and growing, proving that surfers really are the gift that keeps on giving.

Well it's about time- Welcome to Aqua's new website!



After way too long- we have finally finished our new website! Keep checking in because this one will be continually updated with Aqua movies, team profiles,
and all kinds of other Aqua event info! Aqua's E-store will also be coming soon. Big mahalos go out to Michael Sands, Spencer Holmquist, John Lindsey,
Jake Johnson, and Paul Ferraris, and others whom helped us with the new site.

Do something nice for SFOB and you could win a new Matuse Wetsuit

Ocean Beach has given so much to you, so why not show
her some love?

Aqua Surf Shop and Matuse are asking you to do
something good for Ocean Beach, and document it for your chance to win a Matuse 4/3/2 Hoplight wetsuit. 

Maybe invite a few friends to join you with a
Beach clean-up, or perhaps scribble a letter to a
local politician asking for help with better garbage
options for the stretch between the north and south
end
of the beach?

Or how about something community minded?  Build a
gigantic sand castle, with neighborhood children,
while teaching them about waves, tides, and some of
the wild life around our beach. Or present a
lecture on the history of SF’s Ocean Beach to a local
elementary school or camp, instilling care and preservation.

We don’t want to come up with the idea for you- all we
ask is that you take action, and do something nice for
our old friend Ocean Beach. After you’ve completed
your good deed, let us know by writing a summary of
it, taking a couple photos of the process, and
providing two references so we can confirm your good
deed - and you could win a brand spankin’ new Matuse
wetsuit.  With the suit, you’ll be better off to spend
even more time with your favorite beach.

Details:
Do your good deed between July 25th and August 25th
2008 and submit email/photos/ two references’ phone
numbers to by 08/30/08. Aqua
owners and Matuse will collectively choose one thought worthy person as the “winner”, and award them a new
Matuse 4/3/2 Hoplight.  This is an amazing suit, trust
us.  Everyone who submits a good deed will receive a

The new 2009 Wetsuits have arrived!

The new 2009 wetsuits have arrived to Aqua on Sloat. Spank’n new suits from Xcel- whom have won wetsuit of the year the last two years, and Matuse, whom have one of the most flexible, light, and yet amazingly warm suits on the market. Get em while there HOT!!!
